However, the end of the cold war did not mean that international political struggles would ease, nor did it mean that western countries foreign policies would be freed from the influence of ideological factors. In the new geopolitical landscape of the 21 century, ideology in foreign strategies of the United States and other western countries still serves as the banner and slogan for the expansion of their national interests, providing a moral and theoretical defense for their global strategic expansion.
